Happy new year from the PRSA-LA Young Professional Board! Here’s to a prosperous year and continued growth to all young professionals throughout the LA area!
As it turned out, the 2010 calendar year was full of change for many of us on the board, but through it all, we worked to bring you the latest and greatest on the LA PR scene from a unique viewpoint–your own.
Two young professionals in particular, though, stood out in the eyes of those who judged the Trevett Award contest. Congratulations to our own VP Kristin Wood and member Kathleen Bush who were both recognized as winners.
In her position as a communication specialist at the Walt Disney Company, Kristin Wood …. A 2007 graduate from San Diego State, Kristin began her career at San Diego-based agency Cook and Schmid, where she was an account coordinator before moving north to Burbank for her current position in public affairs for the parks and resorts department of Disney. Once in the LA area, Kristin became heavily involved in PRSA and remains an active member of the YP board and a strong advocate for the PR field in general.
Kathleen Bush is a senior account executive at global PR agency Weber Shandwick, working on the digital and consumer practice teams. The 2007 graduate from the Annenberg School at USC who also has a masters Global Governance and Diplomacy from Oxford and experience in the broadcast industry, brings a unique skill set to her account work.
Congrats to the Trevett winners, and thanks to all of you for a great 2010! Looking forward to big things in 2011!
With the transition meeting pending and a new board set for 2011, this is likely my last post as the communications chair. Thanks to all of you for reading and staying up with The Next Generation. I look forward to guest posting throughout the upcoming year and beyond! -DL
